Author's Note: Dear oceanscalamity - I hope you enjoy this little work in the Superman universe! Inspired by your prompts, I wanted to write Lois being her relentless journalistic self on the trail of something else that warrants further investigation - namely, the very convenient-to-Lex-Luthor's-aims translation that Lex managed to have produced in the space of minutes xD
In the film, everyone insists on the authenticity of the footage but no-one questions the actual translation, and I know I'm not the only fan who found that a little weird 🤔 After the dust (literal and metaphorical) has cleared, I think Lois would follow up on that, and she's dragging our resident super-genius along for the ride xD
"And you're not being relentless about this because the translation made your boyfriend sad?"
Lois leans against his desk. "Luthor gets linguists without knowledge of Kryptonian to instantly decode a recording and you don't find that suspicious?"
"Somewhat," Michael concedes. "What does it have to do with me?"
"I just need a lead," Lois tells him, persistent as when she dragged him into a goddamn pocket dimension to rescue said boyfriend. "Doesn't Guy have - space contacts?"
"I'm not Guy."
"Well, aren't you the brains of the outfit?"
Michael snorts. Damn straight. Aloud, he says, "I'll see what I can do."
“Rise and shine, Lois!”
Lois only had time to groan before a piercing ray of sunlight stabbed her eyes. “Wh…” Blearily, she rolled over to check her phone.
“Clark, it's 4:30. I don't care if you're a goddamn early riser, some of us-”
“But you promised to help around the farm,” Clark said, innocent. Lois paused. “Last night at dinner?”
Oh god.
“We've got to feed the chickens!” her boyfriend enthused.
Lois put her face into her pillow and wished for death.
At least, until Clark returned with compensation: a freshly-brewed mug of coffee the size of her head.
Author's Note: Hi, Kay2Es0! Happy Seasons of Drabbles! I was inspired by your prompts about little moments featuring Lois and Clark to write this what-if scene from the Kent farm :D
I imagine this takes place later, during Lois' first "full" trip to the farm where they can be a bit more relaxed - that is, if "waking up at the crack of dawn" can be called relaxed 😆 There is no way in heaven or on earth that Lois Lane is a morning person - I imagine she already grouses about him getting up too early in Metropolis, but in the city I think he tempers it, maybe 6am. On the farm, though, there's things to do! Let's go, Lois!
Also, that coffee he made her was of course at least 50% sugar by volume; Clark knows his girlfriend xD
Author's Note: Dear whatcaniwriteinthis, I hope you enjoy this drabble treat featuring Lois & Jimmy & Clark work friendship! :D After I read your prompts I wanted to do something light and humorous with the three of them in the office, and then I thought about Lois' sugared coffee addiction and how Jimmy and Clark might try to intervene on that for her own good... emphasis on "try" xD
“God, this investigation is gonna kill me,” Lois grumbles, head on her desk. She gestures limply in Jimmy’s direction. “Pass the coffee pot?”
Jimmy brings it over. Lois pours herself a fresh cup, then holds her hand out again. “Sugar.”
This time, Jimmy hesitates. “You know, maybe you should cut back on-”
Lois actually growls, and Jimmy hands over the container before beating a hasty retreat. Clark pats him on the shoulder, commiserating.
“I’ve tried,” he says. “Gave her a cup last week with slightly less in it.”
“How’d that go?”
“She threatened to stab me with a pen.”
“Jesus.”
Author's Note: The funniest thing about Lois threatening to stab Clark with a pen is that either she was so caffeine-deprived she forgot he was invulnerable, or she was so determined about the threat that Clark was alarmed enough to back off (probably out of fear of Lois hurting herself xD)
